After Charlie ruins Jake's date, Jake vows revenge. When Evelyn's date cancels on her birthday, Jake sees his opportunity to get back at Charlie: he suggests to Alan that they should have a birthday party for Evelyn at Charlie's house. Later that day, Evelyn asks to go to a pharmacist so she can get some birth control pills. She meets Russell, Charlie's pharmacist, and Charlie and Alan decide to set the two up.
