This breaks the rules of the Fundamentalist Mormon community, since traditionally couples do not date and it is the women who receive inspiration about who to marry. The Brethren give the two their blessing, but they first must save $10,000. At the same time, 22 year-old Hyrum Burton is also preparing for marriage, but he's following the rules.
