Filmed over a summer in a typical hard-drinking British town - Colchester, Essex - this documentary tells the story of the paramedics and the patients they treat. Every weekend Colchester sees thousands of revellers out and about in its town centre. Waiting to take in the inebriated is the resident SOS Bus, which is funded by local clubs and pubs and run by teams of paramedics and volunteers - whose day jobs range from a car mechanic to an advertising account manager. The team give up their free time to patch up a bloodied young man from a bachelor party who's been bottled in a bar, and an off-duty soldier is treated for a nasty bite on his nose. And then there's also a group of cave-girls out on a hen night.
