Casper has been born during the twenty third week of pregnancy, 17 weeks before he was due. He's on the edge of survival and the neonatal team are constantly supervising him as his organs can't support him. Casper's parents have to be prepared for the worst, when he stops producing urine. Another case featured is that of baby Oliver, also born 17 weeks early, who is recovering from emergency surgery that removed a diseased part of his bowel. The neonatal team know for him to survive he has to start putting on some weight. Stacey was told she may never give birth, now 29 weeks pregnant, it's become clear that her baby isn't growing in her womb. This could mean that her baby could have downs syndrome or could be a sign that the placenta is malfunctioning, but Stacey doesn't want to risk a invasive test during the pregnancy so waits until the baby is born to find out.
