The show takes a look at Hitler's early years. He began as a mediocre student pampered by his mother, a failed artist and a loner, and also shirked military service in 1913. Following Germany's defeat in World War I he turned into a nationalist who soon became the mouthpiece of a small far-right group. He later attempted a coup with his paramilitary Storm Troopers, but it was a failure. He was then imprisoned and wrote Mein Kampf whilst in his cell. Following his release he restarted his quest for power, this time using legal methods.
