In the series opening of A Gifted Man, Michael Holt was visited by the ghost his ex-wife to convince him to pursue with her low income clinic. This makes himself to rush back and forth between taking care of his own patients at Holt Neuro and her less fortunate patients at the clinic. Jonathan Demme directed the pilot episode while written by Susannah Grant.
