Plot

A comedy-drama film that stars Kristen Bell, David Lambert, Mamie Gummer, Martin Starr, Alex Shaffer, Joshua Harto, Amy Madigan as Justine, John Finn, Paulie Litt, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Adam LeFevre, Mike Landry, Lisa Ann Goldsmith, and Terri Middleton. The movie follows the life of reporter Leigh who left her life in New York City to go back home to Connecticut to get her high school job as a lifeguard. Picking up right where her teen halcyon days left off, she moves into her old room with her parents, hangs out with friends who never left town, and reclaims her high school job as a condo-complex lifeguard. But as Leigh enjoys shirking off adult life and responsibilities, and enters into an illicit affair with a troubled 16-year old teen, she begins a chain reaction that affects those closest to her. The Lifeguard was directed and written by Liz W. Garcia, the creator of Dawson's Creek, Wonderfalls and Cold Case.
