Plot

A Ridley Scott film that stars Michael Fassbender, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem and Brad Pitt. The movie surrounds with the troubled Juarez, Mexico / Texas border area and deals with themes of greed, death, and the primal instincts of humans and their consequences. It centers with a lawyer who finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking. Fassbender is known in the film as The Counselor and the primary character of the story who is engaged with a beautiful naive and generally positive, religious woman, Laura (played by Penelope Cruz) and later involved with a pretty malicious sociopath liar named Malkina. Malkina (Diaz) is known as a powerful individual in the underground drug world with her boyfriend, Reinner (Bardem ) the drug kingpin. This film is the second collaboration of Fassbender and Ridley Scott since, Prometheus.
