Plot

Need for Speed is a 2014 action film that is based on the series games with the same title. It stars Aaron Paul as Tobey Marshall - the main character of the movie, Dominic Cooper as the entrepreneur Dino Brewster, Imogen Poots as the savvy exotic car dealer Julia Maddon, Ramon Rodriguez as Joe Peck, Kid Cudi as Benny, Rami Malek as Finn, Dakota Johnson as Anita, Harrison Gilbertson a and Michael Keaton as Monarch. The movie follows Tobey Marshall, a blue-collar mechanic who races muscle-cars on the side in an unsanctioned street-racing circuit. Struggling to keep his family-owned garage afloat, he reluctantly partners with the wealthy and arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster. But just as a major sale to car broker Julia Bonet looks like it will save Tobey's shop, a disastrous race allows Dino to frame Tobey for a crime he didn't commit, sending Tobey to prison while Dino expands his business out west. After two years, Tobey was released in prison and set to a cross-country race to set things straight and avenge his friend, Pete. The Need for Speed was directed by Scott Waugh, director of the 2012 film Act of Valor and Navy SWCC.
